It's Summer Break Time!! 6/6/2012 1:13:37 PM
Working on my third novel and have all two of my other books published. Hurray, my leg is officially cast free. Now I can actually get out and promote my books! Reflections on the last day of school. Wow, a whole month has gone by and I didn't blog! Well, to be honest, it has been really busy. So let me update you.
1) Leg is officially out of the cast/boot!
2) Kids that live from out of state were for a cookout on Memorial Day. Unfortunately due to a death, but still glad to see them!
3) Returned to school for the first time in three months! The kids were so happy to have me back, and Mrs. Pritts put me to work immediately, just like I like it!
4) Nephew Cooper graduated from High School.
5) Grandson Luke's Promotion Ceremony for 8th Grade.
6) I had a wreck. Not my fault. An older lady, yes older than me, ran a red light and T-boned my car. It's sin the shop right now for estimate and repairs.
Most importantly, the last day of school. I worked really hard on a special book for the first graders being promoted to second grade. I will miss them! They were an awesome group of kids and I love working with my teacher. It's good to know she wants me to come back when school opens again.
Anyway, I wrote a book called "Mrs. Pritts Magic Carpet." It was a take off on the magic tree house books if you are familiar with them but instead I used the carpet that students sit on in the classroom. Mrs. Pritts read it to them on the last day of school. It has a story about each student revolving around what they wanted to be when they grew up. It was so amazing to see their faces when it was their turn for their story to be read! It was priceless. Then I gave them all a copy of their story in a 3 hole report folder which Steve put together for me and they took it home! It was a great day, I held on to the emotions for the whole day! I'm so proud of myself! Well, I'm going to post the whole book, in sections, right here on Authors Den. Stay tuned for the first installment!
