I had a break from writing creatively and I am now ready to write from my heart gagin! It's been a long time since I blogged here at Author's Den. My husband was injured on the job and we went through two years of fighting for workmen's comp and then to get on disability. During that time, I had a successful freelancing career. By the time the two years had passed, when the settlement was reached, I stopped writing...cold turkey. I couldn't stand to write one more article of what someone else wanted me to write. At the rate I was writing articles, I could have written two novels a month!
So, I am renewing my writing career, for me, searching for my muse again. I have written an article that is now on the front page of the web site: www.christianstoryteller.com and I have had an article published in my local newspaper.
There are still plenty of family issues that are trying to keep me from writing, but, through it all, God is still nudging me into the right direction.
I had a surprise call from my local library asking me to speak during the month of April in their main auditorium. It is National Poetry month, and I had previously published a book of poetry. I am now in the middle of trying to get this book republished. They would like for me to have books to sell when I speak. I was totally surprised and almost speechless when the call came in! It did serve the purpose of getting my creative juices going though and I have been plotting out what I want to speak on, and getting my POD book republished!
I am also trying to regenerate interest in my first novel "Bitter Water." When it came it, I had little time to spend promoting it because my husband was injured right after that! Now, I want to try to get it jump started. The cruise I wrote about on the christianstoryteller site was a step in that direction!
I am also starting to work again on the sequel to my first novel. "Marisol" is a novel that will have a different main character but will allow the characters from my first book to grow in the second book. Hopefully, this is the second book of a trilogy, all taking place in Central Illinois.
I now have 16 grandchildren who are the true reasons for living and am enjoying spoiling them whenever I can.
