Another Two Weeks of Using a Crutch 5/1/2012 8:55:36 AM
Broken legs are bad, but when you are in your early 60s it seems to make it worse. Five weeks into my broken leg recovery and I'm getting restless! I had Doctor visit yesterday. I was so ready for good news about my broken leg. Sadly, I left there disappointed and sad once again. The nurses and my doctor are awesome, but I really don't want to continue seeing them! X-rays were taken, and my bone is not healing as fast as they would like. So, I need to use a crutch for another couple of weeks. Try to wean myself a way from using it during that time. The worst disappointment came when he said he wouldn't discuss going back to school until I see him again in two weeks! I admit it, I had tears rolling down my cheeks on the way home. Miss my kids and my teacher friends!
In other news: I will have all three of my books available by the end of the week. One shipment came in, another one should be in today, and the third one was shipped yesterday. I'm very excited about having copies of my poetry book. That hasn't been available for over five years. I have people wanting that, I'll be so glad to get it!
Grandkids are my joy. Zach, our senior in High School was inducted into the National Honor Society. I am so proud of him! He has offers from colleges all over the place. He wants to go into pre-med. My Hope Academy grandkids all got honored in some way during their end of the year awards asssembly. I got to go, sit with my class and wear my Hope shirt! Steve took me and picked me up. It was great to be with the kids for a while.
I am working on my Facebook Author page. So far I have received about 44 likes. I'm hoping to build and add to it and use it as a marketing tool for my books. I can't schedule any book signings or promotions until I can get out of this cast. Ugh! Five weeks in, three more to go, I hope I make it!!
Just as a side note,at one time in the last week to ten days, I have my cast, Katlin has a shoe because of a bad foot sprain, Heather was back on crutches because of her knee and Steve missed the bottom stair going to the basement and hurt his knee! We are a very clumsy group!
