Can You Believe it's Almost July!! 6/28/2014 8:46:03 AM
Family, holidays and again the generosity of friends! An update is in order so here goes. This week was fairly uneventful for a change. No surprise visits or unwelcome phone calls. The kids and I continue to work on the basement and making plans for where everything will go. All we have to finish painting is a second coat on the floor in the closet and their living area. Grandpa Steve came over one day and attached an 84" vertical blind rail. We still have to buy 84 slats but we are doing that a little at a time. Once we get the floors finished they can start arranging their living area.
We are still looking for things they need so we took yesterday for Fun Friday! They have worked so hard on helping to get everything done and keep their chores up. I'm so proud of the way they have been cooperating! We went to several garage sales and to the Library. Hunter is looking for boys things to put on his wall and sad we couldn't find anything for him.
It was a good day to see some old friends! Went to my bff in high school while she was having a garage sale. She so graciously went through all of her items she had for sale and pulled out anything I could use for the kids and gave it to me! Including a shoe container so my little shoe diva can keep her shoes in and if the basement trickles they won't get wet! And a beautiful twin bed comforter and pillow set that Katlin just fell in love with. I sent her a picture and she is thrilled to pieces. We also went to look at fabric because we are making fabric ceilings for the kids. I can't wait to see the finished project, I think it will look so cool.
Things are on a much more even keep now that we are not stressing over where Breezy will be placed. We are so grateful for answered prayers after the guardian ad litum visit. The atmosphere is so much happier and less stressful. The divorce has dragged on and on but at least we know where the guardian ad litum stands. This all started a year ago!! And he will probably still take the matter before the judge. According to the visitation supervisor he is so pleasant and nice! I just told her she was seeing the public facade and I could tell her stuff that would keep her from thinking he is so nice! I didn't! But, oh, I wanted to!
More bad news about Hope Academy. The exodus of teachers is still going on with the news of another wonderful teacher leaving to teach at another school. So sad, Hope Academy was a wonderful school four years ago. Not so much now and will probably not be better in the fall. So, so sad. Loved that school at one time and invested a lot of time and my own money into helping it be the best. Love my teacher friends, nearly all who will not be back for the new school year.
Sure hope I can post some pictures to this blog when I have the girl's rooms finished! And a picture of Breezy's room too.
