Long Absence but Still Lots Going On! 10/21/2014 10:42:23 AM
General view of my busy life with custody problems with grandchild, husband and MIL sick and traveling back and forth between Missouri and Illinois. Lots of stuff still going on right now. For those of you who have been following the custody battle with Breezy, it's still going on! Yes, I know, unbelievable right? Supposedly after the guardian ad litem report, the father is supposed to have signed papers and sending them to the daughter's lawyer. So far, we have heard nothing!
Steve's mom has been very, very sick. I have been making trips back and forth between our house in Illinois and her house in Missouri for about three months now. After all tests are done, she has ulcerated colitis. She has lost so much weight and became severely malnourished and dehydrated. After trying to stay by herself for a while, she was unsafe staying at home by herself. Yes, she is 92 and has always been healthy! Basically, no major diseases, no prescriptions, and no problems until July.
She spent a week in the hospital but decided there is nothing wrong with her that can't be fixed by eating and drinking to keep her hydrated and her weight back up.
So, she is visiting with us for a couple of months to regain her strength so she can live alone again. But, she has to be stronger. We are trying to keep her hydrated.
She is enjoying seeing her granddaughter and great grand children. Tonight Breezy will spend Grandma night with two grandma's. It's an adjustment but we are all doing what we can to make the transition as smooth as possible. Being a caregiver is something new to me and I know God didn't call me to be a nurse!
WE have found a very nice church home. The sermons are meaningful and the people are kind. We have four services to choose from so lots of schedule flexibility!
Well I will get caught up later. It's about time for me to go get my Breezy and take her to her visit. Wish that would be done with and it will be if papers ever get signed!!
