Divorce, etc. #5 5/19/2014 11:29:28 AM
Divorce hurts, the parties involved, the children and the grandparents. This is my take on how I feel and the emotions that I went through. It Drags On and On
Several months pass and there is always the constant nagging reminder that at any time your world could turn upside down. The OP keeps getting extended every time it comes up for review. He is abiding by it and is allowed to have visitation with Breezy with supervision. It started with Cadette being the supervisor. She is Heather’s best friend and so little girl had to be taken to Harristown twice a week. It’s a lot of traveling for a two hour visit and a hardship on the hostess Cadette. After all, she has three children of her own and is basically rearranging her busy schedule to allow Luke to visit with Brianna.
We know during this time that Luke is constantly questioning Breezy about what is going on at home. He tries to draw Cadette in as his confident, but I think she learned the same thing I did. He will take anything and make it sound like any bad opinion comes from you not him.
I still have not talked to him. I don’t want to because I can’t trust him. Now I have a new reason to not want him to be around me, my daughter and my grand kids. He is a very manipulative person, smooth and suave on the outside but rough, crude and narcissistic on the inside. I truly didn’t realize at the time how much control he had over Heather. I knew she lived with the constant fear that if she “did something” he didn’t like, or she didn’t do everything he said she should do that he would take Breezy and leave with her. His words were always, “You’ll never see her again. I’ll get custody, I did from Holly and I will from you too, no matter what it takes.”
Luke was young when his dad Luke Senior and his mom Holly were divorced. He was right, after a long bitter custody battle the court gave him “full” custody. Or so he said. We found out during the custody battle that actually he had joint custody with him being the custodial parent. There is a difference there! Oh, and after all was said and done, we found out he had a daughter he had not paid child support for years by yet another woman. Heather got a letter in the mail telling Luke they wanted him to pay his child support. Really? Another child? Another lie!
I begin searching for a lawyer that has a good reputation in custody battles and is willing to work with us on his pay. Thank Goodness I had a little money put aside. We were putting money into the old house as we were still trying to sell it. Between the stress of selling the house and worrying about Heather and the kids, it was a long, long summer.
