Crisis Averted!! 11/7/2014 10:47:12 AM
Grandma, custody, grandchildren, life in general on a fall day. In the last year we have sold a house, bought a house, moved, remodeled an unfinished basement and have suffered through a long divorce and custody battle with our daughter. On top of that, my husband's mother became seriously ill and there were several times we thought we were going to lose her. Talk about stress points!
We love our new home but we are still unpacking and trying to get things rearranged to suit our way of living. Boxes and totes still in the garage and other things just not done!
Thank God, the nightmare of the custody battle will be over on November 20. It's been nearly 17 months and it's been harrowing every step of the way. So glad its almost over! A little less stress from that side would be very welcome.
Steve's mom is doing better. She came to our house and stayed for two weeks and two days. She was supposed to stay two months! She did finally get relief from her ulcerative colitis symptoms and began eating again. It did my heart good when she asked for seconds or said those magic words, "I'm hungry!" I enjoyed her being with us so much but she is bound and determined to live alone in her own home. I can't say that I blame her, but I wish she had been a little stronger before she went home.
It's a beautiful fall day, but I wonder where my summer went! It seemed so short! I am taking a little time for myself and my writing before the full holiday season starts. Need to do some writing...but it's so beautiful outside and I'm going...........
