I guess this blog comes under humor-its not horror or action-its simply the musings of a fellow AD Silver Member--I know some of you are probably saying " Be Bold-Go Gold"
I think I will stay Silver as I deliver--LOL-ok
what I am really curious about is how other poets find inspiration to write a poem-does it come easy for you or hard--do you go to different places to write your poetry?
I would like to find out how people know when its time to write a poem-when they should let their feelings out
For me it can be as simple as looking at a picture or a conversation I'm hearing and a word or a sentence will ignite a thought for me--I have been called an
Emotional Sponge-doesn't sound complimentary I know-I also wonder what it would be like to hear the people who write at the DEN in real life, speaking their poetry-I have been told the effect is different than simply reading the words--to hear the poem read in the voice of the writer I suspect takes on a whole new effect for the listener
I listened to old tapes of Robert Frost-Auden and T.S. Eliot recently and Plath and tho Plath's poem sounds harsh
I found myself listening to it often-her words and the way she spoke high and low made me sit up and listen
Has anyone else wondered how many poets and writers sound like in real life? I hope the DEN comes to Toronto sometime for a weekend event-I will book myself in months in advance just to listen from the back of the hall :-)
