Blogs by Dark Knight Cory Monteith 7/17/2013 2:22:17 AMI was like everyone else shocked and surprised at the death of the Glee star but I guess what bothers me are the comments saying that he was a Hero and what a tragic " Accident " it was. i think Ronald Hull in his poem HERO helped define what a Hero truly is--nor can we glibly say it was a tragic accident. As someone who has used drugs and booze in the past I must say to use Heroin and booze together sounds more like a willful intention to dull what's left of common sense or quite simply check out early from this life. I heard a drug counselor on television last night say that he would never leave someone who had just left a treatment house and who was struggling with drug addiction alone for very long. his view was that such individuals are in danger of slipping back into the same abusive patterns. sadly we have an example of that and the loss of a great voice But to call him a Hero--please what he did was stupid but in no way either was it an accident
