Perhaps as some imply these are the sign of the times in reference to the idea that the return of Jesus is closer or as some would suggest the " Natural order of mankind given the explosion of things to have and the monetary lack"--simply put--Stealing! People these days are stealing everything that isn't nailed down or locked up tight. Some individuals are even bolder to steal an item and then return to the same store later in the week and say " I don't have a receipt but I want to return this item and get my money back"
One would expect given the current wave of stealing that a thief that steals from a store would only return home to find their place has been broken into and their things stolen--not sure if they would dare to file a Police report??
For every theft it ends up costing all of us much more----no matter how someone would try and justify such stupidity with a " Well that company is rich--they just collect the Insurance--I need it etc etc"
Perhaps it shows us that we as a Society are losing its Moral Compass--if you steal and get away with it what does it encourage you to do in the future?
Steal from a future Employer? Cheat on your spouse and income taxes--steal movies online or a car??
My parents had a great idea when I was growing up:
If you can't afford it by saving for it--do without"
The idea today seems to be
" If you want it--steal it-even if it's a small item from a Cosmetics counter-a candy bar-Christmas tree lights-cell phone, whatever"
I often wonder---if you're dating someone you know has stolen before what does it say about you??
If we all started to accept stealing as " Normal " how far down the slippery slope would we go in the acceptance and encouragement of other illegal activities?/
