In Alberta Canada during a recent flooding of the city of Calgary, residents of an area known as High River returned to their flooded homes to find that while the Royal Canadian Mounted Police looked for people still in homes on their police power boats that while they searched homes they also took registered firearms from people's homes-the claim was for " safekeeping "--the Prime Minister's Office has demanded that they return the guns-and civil rights group are angrily blasting the police for their moves which seem to rival that of a police state.
These are Hunters with registered rifles and firearms and many belong to gun clubs. So far many of the guns have not been returned. Which I am sure those in the N.R. A. in the U.S. would be interested to know about. All you have to do is Google the words

In other news when I look at books by science fiction writers I have often been entertained and thought little of it until later on when something that sounds a lot like real life shows up--When I read 1948 by George Orwell of a Police State like many people I laughed it off--with the recent news releases of William Snowdem and the U.S. government's surveillance of citizens it does make me wonder if there is more going on than many people realize---making me to wonder with this title
Poetry and the Government if in fact that even as Poets and Writer's that such individuals as ourselves could be monitored for our poetry and our writings?
If in 3rd world countries poets and writers have been known to be charged and even killed for their statements I wonder at times if those of us who under the guise of freedom of speech may in face be monitored for the things we write even here?
Madness say some?? OR we are not that important say others--we are only writing our feelings--BUT often a writer or a Poet has been known to ignite a nation to stand against the Powers that be...time will tell
I saw a story the other night about people taken captive by UFO's and the computer chip supposedly planted inside of them for monitoring by aliens I assume who have nothing else to do
A wild story I said....and then I recalled that animals had been given in some places a computer chip so as to determine where they belong should they get lost or stolen and returned to their rightful owners
Well we say that is only the wise thing to do...so tell me this....why is there talk in different places in the news and on the internet for even humans to be given a computer chip--especially say for those in society who are mentally unbalanced?
It would be a perfect way to figure out who in society is a threat or is a criminal or run a Police State
Of course some would also say that is Pure Hollywood but isn't it interesting that the things we write about or imagine in a show seems to find its way into the desires of governments--sort of makes you wonder when people read the Book of Revelation that God knows more about the cunning of mankind than we realize and the path man is destined to follow
As for me I will continue to write Poetry but it does make me look around and wonder when I read certain books and watch the latest news.....
