Something puzzles me--we seem to have become a society bent on the latest gadgets to keep our minds entertained and amazed on a constant basis with thousands of apps for cell phones the latest in televisions from LED to 3 D.Even a lot of people today when you say Hi to them on a street have wires coming out of their ears-they like the soap opera are in Another World-their minds dancing to a trendy song-my apologies to those not familiar with that word trendy.There are cases where people so lost in their piped in music have been struck by vehicles like a truck or a bus-oblivious to the world around them leaving me to wonder if the last song they heard was worth it???
They are just I guess grooving to a nice beat-No I won't explain grooving. It just seems odd to me that in our desire to entertain ourselves we seem to be unaware of the long term effects on our bodies--Pete Townsend of the rock group The Who went dead at an early age-as he said not wearing better ear protection caused him to lose his hearing
There are times when I think about some cultures that have bowed down to an idol of wood or stone as being silly---giving their total attention to it and oblivious to the rest of the world around them. Perhaps in some respects the idols of wood and stone are now replaced with...well you know...LOL and that is not news BUT that too is Reality
