In my life

In my life I have had parents friends lovers family members all trying in different times to chart the course of my life as tho they were scared that I'd create the voice they couldn't put into a box. I have watched others live their lives always seeking out the counsel or should I say narrow viewpoints of others. Many lived predictable lives that didn't stretch them too far. As a child I always felt my parents lived too close to their relatives to ever find their voice. Did such an outlook seem too radical too deviant other than the usual work eat sleep find a job find a lover spouse- kids Retire Die routines?

Many tiptoed through life only to safely arrive at Death. There is a Sea of Possibility when you write from your soul. I left home to work in Ontario after high school tho my parents didn't want me to live with my cousin and her husband as they were both Atheists. If they had ever known the curious creative mind I was to discover they would have had more sympathy for the Atheists

Poetry chose me-- I didn't choose it-- yet without words my mind was a feeding ground for my vivid imagination based on the experiences I lived
