When we Dream 12/16/2012 6:01:18 PM
If when we write or draw is sometimes based on what we have either looked at or heard, is it possible that once we have gone to bed, pushed away our worries for another night that the very bedsheets we are laying on could have a subconscious role in our dreams? In some police stations they have a room that is Pink--they place a violent offender in there and the person soon calms down. Why Pink? I don't know why but I suppose the theories are endless. If I am in a Beige room during the day my creativity skips about in my mind. I recall playing with a beige milk truck toy given to me by my Grandmother when I was about 6 or 7 yr old.
At night my bedsheets and pillowcases are beige and I often have the most vivid and colorful dreams. Last night something....strange happened. I had beige pillowcases but Dark brown bed sheets--my dreams were colorful but made no sense and broke up halfway through
So I wonder---in the subconscious when we are at our most vulnerable is there a connection to the color of the bedsheets etc--the touch and feel of the fabric before we drift off??? If the colors of a room can influence our minds when we are awake is it possible to be influenced by the same colors when asleep?
If music can charm the savage beast, a candle inspire thoughts of peace and even romance,a boyhood toy jump start old memories and the color of a room encourage a poet or a write----is it possible we may be influenced by the same colors when we sleep?
If a person's red satin sheets and pillow cases ignite wild passionate dreams or a bed sheet with happy scenes on it make us feel good before we drift off
is there a connection we haven't realized before?
" to sleep, perchance to dream"....Shakespeare
questions which I have no real answer...and that is not news BUT that too is Reality
