the Old and the Young 1/6/2013 5:25:52 AM
if you look at most Tv stations, magazines and movies today the emphasis seems to be on the Youth of the world as tho this is where the answers to life is at. We all seem to idolize youth for their voices, their songs, their energy and the cute things they say about life. We tend to be threatened in some cultures by the older generation-they were once young but have put off childish ways and embraced the reality of a world that needs mature minds. in our race to entertain ourselves we have sown to the wind our beliefs that in order to find the answers to life we must look to our youth who are dancing to the latest music or movies. In my time we would say
' never trust anyone over 30" and we youth were seen as the soothsayers for a new world and yet even today we have reaped the whirlwind of ignoring the elders in our lives. We have placed a greater trust in what entertains us and what makes us happy for a sort time-we have forgotten the God of our Fathers and replaced HIM with idols of our own invention-leaving many youth and the adults who blindly follow their exploits on Television, or Twitter jaded towards our world. The goal seems to be to be popular, make money-to be remembered long after we have left this world. the older generation used to say " it takes time for cream to rise"-sadly the youth and the ones making money off their latest music would not agree--cream is when you achieve the impossible by the latest scandal-or music and yet forget the old ones were once young too and have learned a lot.. and that is not news BUT that too is reality
