Who's old? How old are ya? Guess you are as old as you think you are and for some reason I've never been able to get past forty-two. That must have been my best year. The boys were all big enough I had time for myself, I still looked pretty good. (I think women are at their best around that age.) I had a thriving business and a partner that backed me up in the things I wanted to do(my husband).Since then there have been many changes...my boys are all older than me, my hair has changed from light brown to black , to red, to blonde, to red once more, and now to gray. My dress size has gone up and my heel size had gone down. My partner is gone and my computer has become my best friend (next to my two dogs). Where I used to sit across the breakfast table from my hubby I now grab my coffee and rush to see which of my new friends are waiting for me to sign on. I put the photo of my fortytwo year old image on the screen and I can be as old or young as I want to be, I can use any name I would like to use, and I can say anything I want to say. Not only am I suspended at age fortytwo I can be ageless if I like never growing old. I can surf the web and chose my friends. I read the cute jokes and the funny stories and I send some of my own. It can be fun all the time fortyeight hours a day, but then there comes the time when you turn it all off. Theres just me, "old author" and my two loyal best friends, the dogs. Who lay by my feet all day, look on me with love, asking only for a little food and a pat on the head. They don't care how old I am or that I walk with a cane and my hands tremble as I reach out to turn off the light as I tuck them in and say good night. I still tell them I'm fortytwo. They believe me and so do I.
