A Day At The Funny Farm 2/14/2014 7:45:51 AM
A typical day at our house, who could expect anything less with fifteen grandkids, thirty-one great-grandkids and two dogs coming and going at all hours! Just as I was about to dress, the doorbell rang. Grabbing up my robe I rushed to the front door, forgetting that the knob was broken and I was unable to open it from inside. I spotted the dog-catcher through the bay window as I hurried into the room. The dog-catcher, what in the world did he want? My two dogs were at the door barking and going crazy! When I reached the door I remembered about the handle, I called out,"Open the door." and stood there waiting, so did the man on the outside! I rapped on the door and again called out,"Open this door." The dogs are going nuts, barking and jumping around the room. I see the man step back through the leaded glass window. Guess he didn't hear me, so I knocked hard on the door and shouted,"You need to open the door, I'm locked in!" Watching the door he backed off the steps and turned to leave just as my grandson came bounding up the drive. They talked briefly and each got in their car and drove away leaving me to wonder what was going on? I could only imagine what the man must have thought! A crazy lady lived there, about to turn wild dogs loose on him if he opened the door? hahaha I am still laughing! If he comes back, bet he will be wearing armor! Just another normal day at the Drury House!(PS he had the wrong house!)
