Dear Jay, from Aunt Polly 1/28/2008 9:53:08 AM
About your headache My dear Jay, let me first say I am sorry you have been having a headache for such a long time. You did the right thing when you wrote Aunt Polly about your problem. I'm sure I have a cure for what ails you in my little stack of notes here someplace. Well I can't find my notes so I will just have to use my total recall abilities. Do you recall what was going on in your life when the headache began? Did you suffer an accident, trauma of some sort or was there some irritating person around that became a pain in the neck? That can give anyone a headache. I want you to lie down or lean back in your favorite chair. Is it a recliner? Does it put pressure on your neck and head? Does your ache start in the morning, afternoon, evening, or is it an ongoing thing. Is it sharp pain or dull, in the front of your head or back. If the pain is in the frontal region around the eyes and nose it is probably a sinus problem or allergies. Dry or cold air will aggravate this. a humidifier with warm moisture may help. Gentle massage helps in relieving the tension for all kinds of headaches. Acupressure is good also. Taking your thumb and index finger press on the web between the thumb and index finger of the opposite hand and apply firm pressure, hold steady then alternate hands. Make you a cup of ginger tea using 1/2 tsp of ginger, 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon and a pinch of cloves. Boil together and strain. Drink the tea with a bit of sweetener. You might do this as you soak your feet in a hot water bath. The combination of the three will work wonders for you. It’s also good for your blood pressure as it relaxes you. Have someone massage your head, neck and shoulders. I hope this helps if it does not let me know.
It could be all that brain matter is struggling to get out; maybe you should just start that book. We writers have trouble like that, we think so much, it hurts our head.
Wishing you well...Aunt Polly
