Blogs by Bo Drury Weddings 8/12/2008 9:38:05 AMToday would have been the fifty year anniversary of my marriage. Funny, it seems in many ways only yesterday, yet half a century has passed. I have watched the social page for years and envied the couples there who celebrated this special day knowing it would not happen for me, since my husband died in 1997, but here I am celebrating the fact it could have been. How fast the years flew by, what I would give to do it all again. Remembering the excitment of that special day as I prepared for the ceremoney. It was nothing big and fancy, only family and friends to witness the event in the ministers study at the church. There were no wreaths of flowers or organ music, but the words were magic as we joined hands and gave our hearts and vowed love to one another 'til death do us part'. Its well we don't know what the future holds for us and we are able to laugh and love the years away with out the shadow of unhappiness hanging over us. Each day is a gift we should not squander, if only we knew. I am not sad, it was good, the time we had, and today I celebrate the time I shared with the love of my life.
