Oh Dear!

shaky beginning!
I know the calendar says this is Wednesday but it sure feels like Monday to me! Ever had one of those days when things just do not fall into place and go your way? My optimism was at its peak when I climbed out of bed this morning but my resolve is beginning to waver a bit. Maybe I need to make a fresh pot of coffee and regroup, a little bit of caffeine might do the trick!
Now to get on with my friendship story. One of the first folks I met on the JWW group was Jen. It has been a while and I don't really know how she did it but I do know she inspired me. We were issued a challenge of sorts and I jumped in feet first thinking 'gee they don't know me so if I make a fool of myself I can just fade into the woodwork and never show my face there again' but that was not how it went! I received so much positive feedback and acceptance I immediately fell in love with the lot of them.
Cathy Brownfield and Deja (Mary E Tyler) were two more who rolled out the welcome mat and have remained staunch friends. The men do not take such an active part but we know they are there, Ron Berry is an exception. He did so much in helping me to understand how to manage this computer and to entertain us with his 'critter' stories. I know you will love to read them. He is a man of many talents and creates beautiful Jewelry as well.
I am about to take advantage of you who may be reading my blog and toss in the first piece I wrote in answer to the challenge....bear with me and have patience....

The mighty river claimed everything in its path as it roared unchecked past the twists and turns in the deep canyon. Rock and sand sucked from the sandstone walls tumbled and bounced in the swift current as it hurried along its path to be deposited later, along with the small victims that had fallen prey to the merciless torrent, at the base of the wide lazy river that spread out in the lowlands. The small trickles of rain in the far off hills that had gathered into this gorge, aptly called the Narrows, moved in mass resembling a gyrating snake cruising through the arid landscape. It had no conscience, no compassion, no mercy for any who stood in its way. All was lost to the force of the water as it wiped away all traces of life. Just as suddenly as it came with it trembling ground and deafening roar, it stilled. The murky waters swirled and calmed and it was the same as before. The swallows returned to search the canyon walls for things unearthed by the flood. They swooped and called; their cries echoed and were lost along with the agonized cry of those others, the lost souls that had braved the Narrows.
