Proud America! Elizabeth Drury
As I lay awake last night I thought of the men in my family who served in the military. My cousin Jack Kenyon, navigator on a B29, gave his life in World War Two when his plane was shot down in the south Pacific. Another cousin, Robert Lockhart, was a pilot in that same war. Uncle Bill Dennis, Army Capt, was in the Philippines, Uncle Robert Dennis, navel submarine, My first husband Rusty Wetzel, Marine,, in the. pacific, cousins Len and Jen O'Neal, Wacs, ambulance drivers on the front line, my cousins Charles Lockhart, Tom Lockhart, Rogers Dennis, Bill Dennis, Bill Lockhart, for our country, all proudly wore a uniform. Cleave Drury, my husband served in the Korean war as a Marine, Bubba Wood, Army Military Police, in occupied Germany, My great grandson, Trey Qzee served in the Marines and had two tours in Iraq. I recall my Mother telling of seeing her Uncle Robert off to war in World War One and my great-great grandfather Dennis died fighting for the south in the Civil War. I am sure there are many whom I have forgotten to mention who laid their life on the line for our freedom. We all need to remember that and what freedoms are now being taken from us by the present administration. Stand up for our America and made those who have given their lives and time, proud, and know it was not just wasted effort. Long live our liberity, country, and fighting men and women! Stand up people, I proudly say GOD BLESS AMERICA
