rambling on writing I read the various thoughts and eloquent sayings that my brothers and sisters of the writing world share with us and I wonder, what could I say that would be of interest to anyone? I think most everything has been said and said better than what I would have done if I had thought of it first. So should I keep my mouth shut, my thoughts to myself, or should I go ahead and share my bits of country wisdom? So I ask what have I done that sets me apart from anyone else. Am I wise? I have learned a lot by living this life. I am an expert on dieting, I’ve been on one most of my life, I’ve lost the same ten pounds hundreds of times. I know all the ins and outs of the drug problem that is crippling our country as I have been fighting the problem with one of my boys for twenty years. I can share the grief of losing a mate; suffer the despair of divorce, the pain and pangs of childbirth and joys of having children. The sadness of watching a brilliant mind deteriorate with dementia, the fear as a child goes to war, and the wonders of life and death itself. I would love to share my views on how to clean up this country, end war and strife but I am afraid just being a wife, lover, mother, Grandmother, painter, writer, and caretaker does not qualify me for the job and no one would appreciate my kind of commonsense and country wisdom, so I guess this answers my question, I will leave the eloquent prose to my peers and stick to my homespun stories about how simple life was back when...
