Hello again!
It's been an up and down couple of weeks. Lots of medical stuff going on--a couple of family members are facing some real challenges. The reason I didn't make a post last week is because of one of those people and I'm glad to say that things are looking a tiny bit better. To protect that person's privacy, I won't go into details, but all prayers, well wishes, and good thoughts sent this way are greatly accepted and appreciated.
I just finished a tiny update on my other webpage, www.pamlabud.com, and I have to say that I'm a little bummed out. Why is it that I can get all the praise in the world, but one thoughtless, snarky person, who has the emotional maturity of a twelve-year old, leaves a demeaning comment on my guestbook and it really bothers me? I don't know why. I should have thicker skin and keeping my own comments to myself about this sort of thing is probably the best way to deal with it.
Ignore it. At least, that's what my mother always told me. People can be cruel and it's a fact of life. Don't lower yourself to their level.
Okay. I'm an adult and I can handle it. My more mature self tells me that it's probably some geeky kid with a keyboard, a lot of pimples, and very low self-esteem. (If this is the case and if the author of my guestbook spam is reading, let me say I wish you much happiness and fulfillment in your life and may no one ever get the chance to diminish and belittle you.)
On to bigger and better things. I'm busy working on my next book, which has no contract or even a hint of one at this time. Still, the hunger for writing never goes away and I'm like a junkfood junkie in convenience store, LOL. What can I say? I write because I have to.
An interesting side note. I saw an article the other day about how the CSI crime shows and their ilk are influencing the way people cover up their crimes. Hmmm. I know those shows are for pure entertainment value, but it's kind of creepy that people are learning how to get rid of their DNA at a crime scene. Now, there's a disturbing outcome from 'must see T.V.' don't you think?
