...or how I can avoid housework at any cost. Hello again, gentle readers.
I'm so sorry that I've not gotten the chance to come back and chat here for a bit, but I was gobsmacked by a book deadline and then run over by the bus of holiday insanity.
Now, if I'm very careful, I can carve out more frequent blogs in between writing, promoting my books, and the rest of my crazy, busy life.
Holiday insanity. Don't you just love it. First, because of working weekends, I wasn't able to help my youngest child put up the decorations this year. Darn. Then, like most of you, I've been running around trying to get the most important gifts, and finally agonizing over who gets the remainder of my holiday budget.
Those credit cards look mighty tempting, but the mistakes of the past still haunt me and for the last few years it's been cash only.
My house looks like one of the sets from the movie 'Twister.' I've got a mountain of laundry so huge, I can't remember what color the utility room floor is.
This is Wednesday, and it's the first day I've cooked a meal at home.
I've got half of my Christmas cards made out. I have about a dozen presents left to wrap. There are dishes in the sink and the floor needs to be dusted. Don't ask me about the bird cages. Just don't.
The truth is, I've go so much to do, that I am paralyzed by even the thought of it. The kicker to all of this? Tomorrow night I go back to work. Three twelve hour days in a row. Bummer.
I should be depressed as all get out. I should be scrubbing floors on my hands and knees begging the domestic goddess of cleanliness for forgiveness. I should be cleaning the bathroom.
Not me. I'm playing on the computer. Which is way, way much more fun than stupid ol' housework any day. You now what? When I get finished here, I'm going to go and play with my next book awhile. Yeah. It'll be way much more fun to agonize over my hunky hero than break a sweat over the house stuff.
