A busy, busy summer.
Hello Gentle Readers!
Can you believe it's already July 1st? I can't. It seems like we just started the season and it's very nearly time for July 4th celebrations to begin. Plus, next week is the huge Romance Writers of America's national conference in Dallas. I'm so excited because not only will I get to pack in a bunch of writer workshops, I'll get to meet with my many friends in the industry from all over the country.
I'm planning to enjoy the company of my local RWA chapter members as we board the plane together next Tuesday. I'll be sharing a room with a dear friend that I don't get to see much who is also a nurse. We had a great time last year comparing notes and nursing 'war' stories. It'll be a blast this year as well.
Also, I get to share stories and fun with my Romance Unleashed gals. A great bunch of talented authors who continue to stay close in my heart although we are miles away from each other the rest of the year.
In addition I've got some Editor and Agent appointments lined up and I'm going to be working hard at getting my stuff out there once again.
A national conference is a huge undertaking, a drain on the budget, and a mad dash to get lots of things accomplished, but it is worth every effort put forth. Although I haven't snared any contracts yet in 2007, I have a hopeful eye toward 2008.
So, I'm off now to shop for clothes, some new luggage, and oh, yeah, food for the family. To any of you venturing to Texas next week, a high Howdy! I'll see you soon. Until next time, Happy Reading! Pam.
