A writer's guide to blogging Hello Gentle Readers!
Here it is Monday already. After a long, tough weekend working, I finally have a few days to kick back and relax, or, um write. I mean write.
Actually, it's already after 7 p.m. here and though I've been on the computer all day, I've yet to go to my office mac program and fire it up. Thanks to the helping hands of my computer whiz daughter, I've been tweaking my new myspace page. It's awesome, by the way. She is such a good kid, she's helped me slip into my inner geekiness and create an X Files layout for my back ground. Did I mention she's a great kid?
I decided last week that it would probably be a good thing to start exercising my writing muscles and get my name out there. The myspace page is one way, and to continue that vein I've also put up pages at bravenet, and eblogger. I'm also going to check out bebo, just for the heck of it. that will give me a total of 5 blogs. How cool is that?
Blogging is a really good way to get yourself out there, by the way. It's invaluable to the writer because the more people read you, the more name recognition you get, and hopefully they'll like you enough to buy some books.
I'm a bit schizo in my life--hello:wife, mom, nurse, romance author, ect...--so why not in my online presence as well? I do my best.
You just have to be careful to write things that interest others and not make a fool out of yourself. Check and double check your facts. Most of all, have fun. As in writing in general, if you're bored with what you produce, chances are others will be as well.
So, I'm off to finish my blogs and get into some novel writing before my day is finished.
Tomorrow, I take my oldest child for her volunteer orientation and to drop off some job applications. Also, more fun stuff on myspace.
My current work in progress is a western paranormal, tentatively titled 'The Last Chance Posse.' There's a thin line between good and evil, and when it's crossed, all Hell breaks loose.
