An old favorite movie of mine...
Hello everyone!
Just a quick note here. I'm currently working on 4 books and I've barely got any time to write these days as it is, so the blogging has definitely decrease. I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but I'm a little tired of reading everyone's blogs, you know. It was fun when there was one or two, but now they are in the millions, and well I barely have time to read the ingredients on a can of soup, let alone the thoughts of every single person on the internet.
That beings said, though, I do have something interesting to note here this afternoon. I was taking a little nap this morning after dropping my kids off at school. (Shhhhh! Don't tell them I do that, because they think I work ALL the time. I work nights so sleeping during the day is not an option for me, unfortunately.)
I flipped the television on, (another bad thing for those of us who have sleep disorders, you know.) and I found an old favorite movie of mine. Well, to be honest I hadn't seen the movie version, but in high school we'd read the play and it so affected me that it was one of the reasons I wanted to be a writer.
If you ever get the chance, check out a little movie called: The Barretts of Wimpole Street. OMG! It is a totally awesome play and the movie definitely measures up. For those of you who've never heard of it, it is the story of Elizabeth Barrett Browning when she first met her one true love, Robert Browning. Dig out you old high school lit books, kids, because these are two of the most romantic poets that ever lived. It's a powerful story of a young woman who escapes a dreary life of illness, forcing herself to rise from her sick bed to be with the man she loves. Forget the milktoast fare on today's chic flicks, folks. This is the real deal.
