Some news, some views, and way too much chocolate... Hello again, gentle readers!
My goodness, Easter is past and now we're staring summer right in it's huge, bright, sunglass wearing eyes. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to steamy walks on the beach, longer days, and weather that's a bit more predictable. Like, oh, sunny and warm for starters. Florida is nice in the winter, but hot, hot, hot in the summer.
So far the words on my books are all good! Skip over to Cataromance.com to see the latest comments on Spirited Away. (Five stars, baby! Five stars!) I'm absolutely thrilled that things have been going so well.
A week or so ago I received my author copies and I've had a blast getting them to friends and family. It's so cool! Everyone should be an author, folks.
Now, the world has turned back to normal. Well, what passes as normal for me. I'm still trying to fit everthing in to my day and usually coming up a little short. On the good side I've added three book signings to my list of things next month and I'm hoping for a couple more to work out. Although my book doesn't officially hit the stands until April 1st, I have to say that the pre-release stuff has been pretty good. As usual, I'm crossing my fingers and holding my breath.
The big news of the day is that my Mom is finally home from the hospital...again. Yep, we're talking 4 admissions in about 5 weeks. She ended up having surgery last week and then had a violent reaction, to what we're not sure, but it translated into an additional five days in a different hospital and lots of stomach upset. Complications, thy name is Wanda...
Anyway, Mom is home and doing much better. We hope this will be the end of her exciting double life wearing a thin cotton gown with the backside that never closes. Even as a nurse, (or even because I'm a nurse) it's difficult to deal with all the circumstances of hospitalization. Just know that after our latest experience, I'm saying prayers for anyone who is currently admitted to, or anyone who has a loved one in the hospital.
After overdosing on chocolate and Easter eggs, my husband and kids are in the other room snoozing (or detoxifying if you want the official term). We had a nice day, made even more special because my Mom felt much better and was able to share it with us.
What are my latest plans, you may ask? Well it is spring and there's an old wive's tale about women going into a frenzy and performing a disturbing ritual known as Spring Cleaning. Personally, I'm against it.
First and formost, (not counting the usual working to support my family, keeping my kids out of trouble, and occasionally spending time with my spouse) I'm laboring to finish my next book. It's fun and cool and I can't wait to get to the end...and start the revision process. (See me trying to convince myself that this part of being an author is fun!)
So, I must transform myself once again into a storyteller and delve into the paranormal, the English Regency, and really cool job of being a writer. Happy reading! Pam.
