The storm before the storm Hello fellow readers and bloggers!!!
Yep, I'm baaaack. That is a good thing. I think.
It's been a wild couple of weeks. My Mom's been sick and in the hospital in the last month, I've gotten my first major review, started a second job, and tried to keep up the house, bills, and kids, not all in that order.
Right this moment Mom's good. A lot of prayers have been sent. We're waiting on tests and doctors, but she's making it. Thank God.
Being married is bliss. Too bad I've not had time to enjoy the bliss or the husband. Though he's a trouper. Thank goodness he's on my team. I wouldn't get near as much accomplished nor would it be as fun.
My children are under control and fairly happy. Of course, they think said happiness involves having their parents at their beck and call and that they should be getting everything they want. My husband and I are dedicated to introducing them to the real world, though it's not an easy task.
On the job front, I've started a second job. Yep, molding the minds of tomorrow's nurses has been placed firmly in my grasp, and I'm doing my best at part time instruction of nursing students. So far, I'm having a blast. Like my children, I think my students must think I'm crazy. A likable crazy, but crazy none the less.
Please note, second job is saving my sanity at dealing with first job. My fellow nurses will surely understand. 'Nuff said.
Finally, my first writing review, the famed Romantic Times Book Club Magazine has bestowed upon me their ultimate kindnes--4 stars! I an thrilled. My agent, editor, and friends are as well. Spirited Away has had a huge burst out of the gate and I am grateful to everyone for the support and cheers along the way. The worst part of getting such accolades you may ask? I can't yet get a copy of the 'zine to read the article. The suspense is killing me--in a good way, though. I'm still elated and humbled at the same time.
Now the final countdown to the book's release. That and rushing to get the final books out for reviews, waiting for my own copies to arrive, and holding my breath until the first time I actually see it on the shelves. Life is good. Nerve wracking, but good. The calm before the storm you may ask? Well, more like today's title infers: it's the storm before the storm in my case. Such is life.
Not much more to comment on. I've done some work on book two today and then I've got to read up the assignment before I give my talk to night. More on life, writing and teaching later.
