Sometimes I ponder on why things happen and there just isn't a clear answer. Several years ago I met a lovely lady who was connected with the local library. As a budding published author I was so happy to meet Bee who gave me a much appreciated bit of encouragement. Even though we lost contact with each other, the lovely thoughts of her stayed with me. Not long ago I saw in the newspaper that the Friends of the Library were having a luncheon to honor her and I quickly made arrangements to attend. Today is the day and I'm eager to reaquaint myself with her. She introduced me to some readers in the area (even though I didn't live here) and it resulted in meeting a book review club (they bought my book!) and an invitation to be a keynote speaker at their annual luncheon.
Just a little over a month ago I met Kathy Perry, a fellow author and on Saturday she kindly invited me to take part in her most successful book signing. I feel as if I've known Kathy a long time, we have so much in common and are planning to work together in the future.
These are just a couple of ladies who have impacted my life in many ways and I am thankful that God directed us along the same path. There are others who fit so well into this category and I feel blessed to have them with me whether it be for a short or long time, whether we are friends who can interact often or just stay close though distance separates us. I guess friends can pop into our lives at different times, in different ways, and yet hold a strange measure of fulfillness.
