New manuscript 7/22/2008 5:49:59 AM
Well, I did it. Last week I sent my latest manuscript off to the publisher. The tenth novel I've created. It's kind of like throwing your youngest child out onto the nearest freeway. After all, for the past months I've nurtured, coddled, loved and hated that collection of words. I've worked hard to make it perfect and know that nothing in this world is perfect unless God made it. I've invited Him into my writing world but I think he just might have more important things to tend to but at times I've felt his closeness. I've coaxed the characters to behave well and watched them muddle their way through the plot, adjusting, correcting and manipulating them into something that might - just might - make the charts -- or a least catch a few eyes. There's an empty place in my heart because those people and those activities have been a cruicial part of my life and now they are off on their own, spread over 305 pages, captured between colorful covers just waiting for hundreds of eyes to relate to them.
