Well, I'm excited. This morning I received a shipment of books I'd ordered from my publisher and among them was Shadows in the Heart. I had first published this one around 2003 but for various reasons I haven't had it available for sale for several years. This book is especially special to me because it is based on a part of my life. The suject is spousal abuse and I was a victim of this nasty crime. How women get in these circumstances, why they stay and how they escape has often been the subject of some of my speeches. While the book is fiction in that there are differences in names and places, the basis of the novel is true but the real story is not the abuse but how this woman escaped and what she did to begin a new life for her and her daughter. Now I'm going to begin to market this one again and I feel good about it.
