I received an email from a dear friend who wrote, "…activities are just about doing me in. I know our Lord said, 'not to worry for nothing but in every thing give thanks.'" I know what she means and agree but right now I too carry a load of family worry. I also know that the solution to the worry isn't going to come from me. I guess we all worry needlessly but at the time the worry seems to just come naturally--it's not something we can casually toss aside. I also have discovered when your mind is preoccupied with worry it is so diffult to concentrate on what needs to be done. I sit at my desk and think about the book I'm working on and do nothing. I look at the stack of emails that should be answered and just move the stack a few inches away from the computer and then I remember one of my favorite quotes. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I believe it; I just can't conjure up enough confidence right now to let it go. I know I should -- let go and let God.
