The cold is gone -- or for all intents and purposes -- it's so much better than my energy has been almost restored to the previous level -- which was boardering on hectic. I think I must have the shortest colds known to man/woman. Three days.
So, I did a lot of chores that had been put on hold. One thing I told my husband this morning was, "I'm going for a bike ride -- need the exercise." Well instead I plowed through indoor projects and before you knew it it was well into the afternoon. Put the bike ride off until tomorrow seemed like the best solution. I began to do some embroidery, something I love to do and while stitching and watching the food channel there came over me an awful desire for a hot dog and chocolate sundae. Should we? I asked. Of course he agreed; so willy-nilly we set off for DQ for a hot dog and a chocolate sundae. It was delicious and so far out of our 'norm' that it was even more special.
Back again I returned to my stitching and looked up across the lanai and saw one of my friends biking by on her three-wheel. "I'm going for a bike ride," I announced, full of enthusiasm. Off I went, bottle of water in the basket, sun glasses on. I went around about half of our community when I ran into a friend walking a little dog. We chatted. It was nice to catch up on news of the area and low and behold before I knew it the sky was darkening and I had to pedal home in a hurry. When I got home he asked, "Have a nice bike ride?"
"Oh sure," I said.
"Where did you go?"
"Around the park."
"Meet anyone?"
Now I'm found out! "Yes, I saw Shirley walking her neighbors dog and we talked for a while."
I know that he knows that I didn't bike the entire time I was gone but nothing more was said. Oh, well, it was with the best of intentions. I'll do better tomorrow.
