A great experience

Last Thursday I was invited by the Highlands Ridge Book Club to attend their monthly meeting. They had chosen my novel, A Grandma for Christmas and being there to hear their discussion was a unique and exciting experience. There were twelve women present and most of them had read the book in such detail they astounded me as to the depth of their critique and review. To say they were generous in their praise would be an understatement. But what interested me the most was the questions they asked about the actual construction of the plot and characters. It gave me a true reader's insight. This discussion was lively and oh-so-rewarding. It is a rare experience to have so many readers gathered in one place and hear them disect and discuss your creation. If you write fiction I heartily recommend trying to get this kind of activity in your area.
