New Year Just as a calendar has all those lovely blank spaces for us to fill in with events, appointments, book signings and speaking engagements, the empty and beckoning new year hovers on the horizon. A whole year waiting for me. No one knows what it will hold but I've begun to make a list of the things I must do, things I'd like to do and challenges I just might take on. This list is different from the one I'm making mentally for my New Year's resolutions. Those old resolutions aren't much different from last year's or the year before. There's the continuing desire to lose 10 pounds and completing my bible study course on time. I finish it but not always on the prescribed schedule. Of course there is the current manuscript which I haven't been able to get restarted but the story continues in my head so all is not lost there. But the challenges are a different story. Will I step outside my comfort zone to take on something different? Who knows. I do know that on January 1st I will be a year older and that the future is one year shorter than it was last year. But being the eternal optimist I'll make my list of things and cross them off one by one. Maybe this year I'll get them all crossed off. Happy New Year everyone.
