SUNNY SAYS 2/25/2009 4:42:12 AM
The outside temperature on my computer read 46° and my thermostate inside reads 71° and I'm cold. I have a sweater on over my nightgown and a blanket over my knees as I write. Funny, back when I lived in Pennsylvania I would have thought this a lovely day but now I'm cold. Twenty years in Florida has thinned my blood although the experts say that doesn't happen. But it must. I'm looking forward to today, not that I don't look forward to every day. You do that when you get well into your senior years. My calendar for the past three months has been so full of 'must do' things, speeches, book events, teaching at the college, workshops that I have voluntarily schedueld, both those I give and those I take. I guess I'll never get over my intense need to learn and to share what I've learned. But today I have nothing scheduled except choral practice this afternoon. If it were warmer I'd go to the pool for exercises but it's too cold and I've said that already. I love my life here in Florida with my wonderful husband and the life I've etched out of my older years — the writing I love so much, the involvement in every aspect of that activity that somehow is the icing on the cake of life as to that wonderful vocation — so there's no complaints. But, it's still cold, too cold for me but perhaps tomorrow will be warmer. That's the good part or at least one of the good parts; the anticipation of the next day and day after that.
