The best laid plans of mice or men… The best laid plans of mice or men…and struggling authors -- well you know how that saying goes. This past weekend I finally figured out (I think) what has bogged down the latest manuscript I'm working on so I set to work. I will need to rewrite the first five chapters and make notes so that the continuity flows through the rest of the book. But -- and there is always a but isn't there? so far this week, and it's only Wednesday, we've made two trips to the hospital for tests and one visit to the doctor. My husband is going through some difficult times and we are slowly getting to the bottom of the problem(s). I'm not complaining and have put my bright manuscript ideas on hold, tucked safely in a secure part of my brain. Hopefully in one of the compartments that doesn't automatically dump whatever is in there at inopportune times like this annoying habit I've developed of forgetting things. My main concern right now is his welfare. Being such a sweetheart (he never complains) it is easy to care for him and the time I spend doing that is my most precious commodity. You take your blessings as they come and my biggest blessing came into my life 14 years ago.
