I am an avid reader, as I'm sure we all are.
I feel the urge to write again with nothing to write about so I decided to open a word document and start writing and see where it leads me. Along with many others in the world today, I’m excited about the Harry Potter book due out tonight. My grandson was at Border’s at 8am this morning to get a line ticket at 9am. He will go back tonight around 7 to wait for the midnight sale. Luckily Border’s plans activities to entertain those waiting and Michael and Kristen love going thru this every time a book comes out. I prefer to wait until they read the book and pass it on to me. I’m every bit as much of a Potter fan but more patient than they are. My daughter is not quite as bad as they are, she isn’t going to the sale tonight, but she is having Mike buy her a copy too so she doesn’t have to wait till they finish theirs. You can see we are a family that loves books. My taste runs to Mysteries and Crime novels, Catherine Coulter, Lisa Scottoline, Evanovich, and many others. I read at least three books a week if not more. Michael reads indiscriminately but with a real relish for Fantasy; Jordan, Goodkind and of course Tolkien are among his favorites. Kristen reads that, plus vampire fantasy with a romantic leaning. And Susie is the embarrassment of the family…she reads romances and I mean the ones I would be embarrassed to be seen even looking at. I read some of Mike’s choices, such as Goodkind and he enjoys some of mine, like Kay Hooper or Catherine Coulter, and Kristen and I both love Laurell Hamilton’s vampire books. But none of the rest of us read Harlequins and we pretend not to know Susie when she does. But somehow Harry has crossed the lines and is adored by all. I went to see the movie Monday with Mike and Kasey. They both saw it at the midnight preview before it came out to the public but I was late and they both wanted to see it again so we went. And of course, I loved it. I have always been a Gary Oldman fan, he can do no wrong but was really choice as Sirius Black. I won’t talk about the movie cause I’m sure lots of you haven’t seen it and will want to make your own mind up about it. I’m not really into doing movie reviews anyway.
There is one review I am willing to do though. Baskin Robbins has a peanut butter, banana sundae that is to die for. Ice cream over sliced bananas, with pieces of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and then topped with peanut butter topping. I’ve died and gone to heaven….
