This is actually an essay on the joys of playing solitaire on a computer as opposed to a card deck...just kidding, it's really about sex... I just wrote a rather tongue in cheek poem about this mystery of women and men and it leads me to look deeper into the subject. It really isn’t such a mystery at all, we are all pretty much looking for the same thing, while avoiding it with various degrees of skill, all the time lying to ourselves about the whole thing, hiding from one another while we search desperately to find each other. Doesn’t that about sum it up? Considering that love is supposed to be the greatest thing since ice cream, why does it usually hurt so damned much. And if we love someone, shouldn’t we be completely happy instead of turned inside out and upside down? I could spend hours confusing myself on the subject and that is leaving out the added confusion of…dare I say it…SEX. Now sex really is the best thing since ice cream and sex with ice cream is a whole nother story. When I first discovered sex I thought that I would never again do anything else. Why would I? Something this much fun could take up years in the learning. Then I found out you could do it with someone else. Wow! Now I was really hooked. But how can something so much fun complicate your life so much. Now try to combine love and sex…which of course is the whole idea, isn’t it? Isn’t it? Then why is it that in most marriages…the biggest problem is sex. Too much…not enough, no time, no energy, kids in the way, mother-in-law in the next room…you know what I mean…it’s endless. And it’s even complicated for singles, they have guilt, propriety, society, right and wrong, and safe sex to deal with and then…after they graduate from high school they have to get a job. Life sure is complicated. And you know what I’ve figured out about all this??????? Not a damned thing…..
