Great Entertainment at Beverly Hills Shorts Festival this past weekend. Omigosh I feel so upset that I couldn't go to the BH Shorts Festival this weekend. I mean Petros had me do doubletime this weekend because I had to "fill in" for one of my "sick" coworkers. Oh she's really "sick" alright. Especially when Marci a fellow waitress said the "coworker" just wanted to take the weekend off so she could skiing with her boyfriend up at mammoth. GRRRRRR and to make things to make me even madder Jerry my theatrical agent went to that festival to make contacts with some of the young acting and directing talent at the festival. Jerry I need those auditions. Did you tell those young AFI/USC/Chapman film school grads I need work?
Anyways Marcus's friend Anthony also went there to mention my autobiography to some of that young up and coming directing/producing talent so we'll see which one of them want to make me a "star" in their upcoming feature friend.
Anyways Anthony says the quality of many of the shorts (almost all the films were less than 20 minutes) were suprisingly very good and a lot of them were like student film projects for these up and coming moguls. Well at least these people are in the same boat as me but I have no doubt in my mind that a lot of these people will hit it big in the near future and get big contract from the major studios for a blockbuster feature film after the bigwigs look at some of these "shorts." Oh by the way not everyone is a graduate of a fancy film school. Some were just regular people like you and I who raised money and made a nice quality "short" film. Anthony said the quality of some of the films was just as good as the quality of the movies you see out right now.
Now here's what made that "Shorts" festival so great. There were like 60 of them over three days and you could have bought tickets on the internet for......a whopping $30. I mean mygosh I went to that Univeral City theater last week to watch 2 hours of "Crummy Movie" and the tickets and parking and concessionaries alone came to around 30 bucks.
Anthony said the only problem over the around 15 hours of programming is after awhile your butt starts to really feel it.
And is there a rumor Anthony and Jerry that some big shot celebritiy was there at the Film Festival and you didn't push selling him my autobiography or make contacts for an audition? GRRRRRRR
Allright enough of the festival. A few more thoughts. I just can't imagine people living in a place like Iceland. I'm not bashing Icelanders. I mean they're nice and real friendly and a lot of them like to read about me over the internet but how can those people live on ice all the time. I just don't understand it.
Anthony said one of the shorts at the festival was a great documentary about lawns and how much water is being wasted on them. I mean they showed how people in Arizona are sucking places like Lake Mead dry and people in Vegas are getting paid so they can have their lawns replaced with artificial turf. You people need to realize there is nothing more important than water (except maybe air) SO CONSERVE.
I just read some disgusting news about cloned beef being served at restaraunts. I WILL NOT TOUCH BEEF OR ANY OTHER FOOD THAT THE LORD DID NOT MAKE. I mean who knows what kind of effects "altered DNA" can have on your system. Alright that's more than enough thoughts for now. Jerry I'm a bit upset with you for not contacting that bigshot you saw at the BH Shorts Festival about getting me an audition. I'll have to contact him myself.
