Fifi's Thoughts 12/22/2007 10:11:53 AM
I've been up since the crack of dawn and have done almost all my Christmas shopping for my family WHILE YOU'VE ALL BEEN ASLEEP? You people just get up in your jammies or are still in slumberland this fine Saturday? Well some of you are probably early risers like I am. I was up in six am because I wanted to hit those crowded stores early but even when the stores opened at 7 am the parking lot in the shopping center where I went was almost full. That's what happens when you're a procrastinator. Now I'm having a little breakfast over at the local Starbucks here in a Sherman Oaks shopping center and having some time and energy to type my blog.
Anyways I got most of this pain in the but Christmas shopping out of the way for my family. Shoes for Pigg, a nice shirt for Father, fancy perfume for Mother. I'm still trying to figure what to get for my grandma. I sae a nice diamond pendant but that's a bit on the expensive side for my budget. Maybe I'll get that nice scarf I saw at the women's clothing section at Penny's.
I really get fed up seeing those Christmas commercials showing some yuppie buying his lady friend an expensive luxury car all decorated in a big fat red bowtie. As though 98% of us can afford to buy such expensive cars for Christmas or any other time of the year. They need to invent a 'rich persons' channel and show commercials like that only to those wealthy crooks who made it by stealing money or taking advantage of hardworking people like you and I or had rich daddies themselves, plus their 'golddigger' companions.
Speaking of crooks I saw another 'infomercial' last night on TV where some guy promised you a pot of gold under a rainbow if you just sent him a check or gave him your credit card for like $99.95. Of course the 'testimonial people' were all paid actors or the one in one thousand who did well with the guy's product. I'm not gonna say what the product was, let's just call it a CAN FULL OF SCAM. I just can't undestand why our law enforcment people can't go after crooks like that instead of giving stupid tickets for doing a 'rolling stop' to hardworking honest citizens like me. I actually did an audition for one of those 'actor' jobs a little while ago. I felt like going to that show and kicking everyone involved with that show's butts. I'm a Christian girl and I hate seeing people taking advantage of other people. The FCC needs to get rid of those stupid commercials and whle they're add it they might want to add getting rid of those lovely 'ED' commercials which they show on primetime where kids can see them.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. It just seems like the last Christmas was yesterday. The years just seem to go by so much faster now that I'm in my twenties than like say ten years ago when I was still a little kid.
When you get older the year goes by faster than a speeding bullet. It goes by faster than the speed of light. When you get older the years go by so fast you're a craxy irresponsible young gen yer or gen xer or baby boomer one day and the next day you're somebody's 'grandfather' or 'grandmother.' When you get older the years go by so fast you mistake your friend's or relatives 'kids' for their parents. When you get older the years go by so fast that some of you are showing that 'Grinch who stole Christmas' cartoon you saw it seemed like yesterday as a kid TO YOUR GRANDKIDS. When you get older the years go by so fast your head spins so much keeping up with all these dates that say, for example, you tell people you already did your Christmas shopping, FOR LAST CHRISTMAS. When you get older the years go by so fast it seems like December is next to December and you're humming those silly Christmas songs throughout the whole year. When you get older the years go by so fast you're saying 'Anything Goes in the Double O's' one minute and the next minute you're saying 'We better stock up on our Pork and Beans now that we're in the Teens' for the pessimistic to 'Now that we're in the Teens we can all live like Kings and Qeens' for the optmistic. Back to Christmas shopping. More than enough thoughts for now.
