GRRRRRRR I just killed the computer! It was just so darn SLOW! That's it. I just killed my beatup old desktop last night. I mean I got so tired of that darn 'hourglass' taking forever and ever and ever and then I snapped and gave it a sharp kick to the side. Well the thing just gave a quick last dying beep (similar to like people and animals give a big last dying 'woosh' like breath when they finally give up the ghost. I have no idea what bugs do when they die. I just squash them and well they're gone.) and that was it.
I tried putting the switch on and off but it wouldn't do anything. I called my boyfriend Biff who is a web designer and a 'computer expert' and he said I probably damaged the hard drive. He said I should practice 'anger managment' and not 'kick things' when I get upset. Well I told Biff I'm sorry but I just couldn't sit around waiting till I turned into an old lady and started to collect social security before that computer finally connected to the internet. Biff took the computer to his place and called up his friend Chang to come down to take a look at it the next morning. Chang is a coworker at the software company Biff works at and Chang is even sharper with Biff and has all kinds of tools to open and fix up that darn computer. Well Chang told me this morning after he opened up and looked at the computer that my 'mother board' which houses most of the major components of the computer, was cracked. He said he could replace it but later and parts together would cost well over a hundred bucks and that it would be almost as economical to buy a new desktop for not A heck of a lot more as desktops today are a lot more affordable than they used to be.
So anyways I took Chang's advice and am ordering a new desktop in a month or so after I save a little of my hard earned waitress job money. Meanwhile I'm banging out this blog on my laptop which I connected to my high speed intenet at home. I asked Chang why that darn thing was so slow and he told me that the system was full of 'spyware' and just needed to be cleaned out. I could have downloaded one of these 'spyware cleaners' for free. So anyways I'm using my laptop for the next couple of weeks. My old desktop is sitting in my closet and I'm deciding wether I enventually should give it a proper burial or toss it in the dumpster. I'll worry about that later. Right now I'm very happy to have a computer that actually does not take a day and half to start up. Meanwhile if the computer police call me in for questioning on this 'homicide' and if the computer judge sentences me to any hard time for murdering a computer I can plea temporary insanity and that I gave the computer a 'mercy killing' because it was about to go anyways.
Stinko Double Os movie of the week. '21', silly outrageous plot about a young MIT math genius who just celebrated his 21st birthday and is recruited by his mad scientist professor, played by Kevin Spacey, to join his fellow MIT geeks to use their knowledge of advanced mathematics and 'card counting' so they can clean up at the Las Vegas casinos.
Well there are just so many disfunctional parts of this movie such as how this struggling young man can go to expensive MIT for four years but Harvard Med School is way way out of his reach. Or that he would hide like $3000000 underneath the ceiling in his dorm room in Cambridge Mass. which I hear is not the safest place to live. Or that with his perfect MIT GPA and high MCATs he cannot afford to qualify for any scholarships or fellowships except this impossible to get 1 out of a 100000 full ride scholarship where he has to really wow the Dean who oversees the scholarship with an unbelievable interview just to be considered for it. Or that in the world of random probability that is the Las Vegas casino there is a 'counting system' formulated by MIT students that will all make us rich. Or that there are casino security thugs who will do unkind things to your body if they find out you are counting cards. (I mean if that were true then I'll stick with the even more random probablitiy of being A rich and famous actress than striking it rich in Vegas using these math geeks system because I don't want my pretty faced messed up)......Anyways you get the point and we've talked enough about this movie.
You single people and maybe not so single people need to look at some of the 'meetup.com' groups in your area to meet people who have similar interests that you do. They're all over the place and they have all kinds of weekly activites. I'm thinking about joining a meetup.com group called Struggling Hollywood actors support group. I noticed there are a lot of members. I just feel so much better using on this laptop which operates at the speed of light, not the speed of horse and buggy. RIP BEAT UP SLOW OLD DESKTOP. MORE THAN ENOUGH THOUGHTS FOR NOW AND GOOOOOO JAYHAWKS!
