Fifi's Thoughts 10/22/2007 11:23:23 AM
My friend from another planet has different social customs than we Earthlings and it sure looks like a slugfest of a World Series. Another Midwestern team really took it on the chin. The Indians were leading three games to won and must have been thinking about how they would handle playing in mile high Coors Field instead of finishing of the Red Sox. Well they don't have to worry about Coors Field any more. I mean they didn't even put up a fight in those last three games. For heavens sake Cleveland get some relief pitchers this offseason. Down 3-2 in the 7th and a few innings later it's 11-2?
The curse given to the Cleveland and Chicago fans. No World Series championship in a hundred years for Cubs fans (1908) and no World Series championship in 60 years for Indians fan (1948). If you're a Cubs fan or Indians fan you will see Halley's comet more frequently than you'll see a World Series championship. It's only fitting the Lord make things right and have the Cubs play the Indians in the World Series next year and at least one team breaks that riculoulsy long spell.
At least the World Series should be exciting. The red hot Rockies against the hard hitting Red Sox. We should see a lot of fireworks in both those 'launch pads' called Coors Field and Fenway Park. I think I'm gonna pull for the underdog Cinderella Rockies.
Rest in peace to former Packer Max McGee, a real 'fun guy' who caught the first TD in SuperBowl history, and Deborah Kerr, who I just absolutely loved in the 'King and I.'
Omigosh it's Hades out here in Southern California. Fires everywhere. A quarter of a milllion people being evacuated. I'm hoping and praying no fires get close to my Van Nuys apartment.
You people probably think I'm kind of a 'tomboy' talking about say sports all the time instead of 'feminine things' like coo cooing babies. You just don't think somebody with a name like 'Fifi' should be so tomboyish huh? Well I'm sorry but I'm not into marrying or having kids or any of that other stuff till I'm well into my thirties. Speaking of the name 'Fifi' some silly casting director at a recent audition told me it sounds too much like a cheap French 'can can girl' or a 'cat or dog' and that I should use my real name, Cheryl, when I do auditions. I'm sorry but I told that ill informed casting director 'Boolah Boolah Boolah.' I just go with my gut instinct and what a veteran old Hollywood publicist who sadly passed away recently once told me. "Honey," he said. " 'Fifi Larouche' will get you noticed in Hollywood a lot more than 'Cheryl Larouche, BET ON IT." Well I'm not gonna ignore that old sage's advice no matter what anybody tells me. I'M FIFI NOT CHERYL.
By the way you people know that 'Fifi' is also a short form of 'Josephine.' You know like Napolean's wife, 'Fifi' Bonaparte?
Finally my good friend Alocki tells me that they have different 'social customs' on her home planet Zatoris. She says that Zatorian men and women are assigned 'mates for the purpose of child bearing' by some 'Head Council' that makes all the decisions and runs the planet. (Unlike our overcrowded Earth Alocki tells me they have only 5 or so million people living on Zatoris. I mean that's like one third of LA's population). Anyways when the Zatorians have kids they're taken away from the parents or 'providers' and raised and educated in public 'youth centers.' After that the 'parents' split up and go their own ways. No marriage, no loving family, no father, no mother, no son, no daughter. Yet Alocki's one of the nicest people I ever met, a lot friendlier and warmer than most of the Earthlings I know. But I'm sorry Alocki, I just can't imagine growing up in a society like yours, sounds too much like what was going on in places like Russia and Germany in the not too distant past. OK more than enough thoughts for now.
